Francis Guildea

Been in the industry now for 27 years and have been lucky to work in a variety of roles in many award winning or prestigious properties

Joined Hilton as an 18 year old management trainee originally at Gatwick Hilton and then , Portsmouth , The Royal Berkshire and finally the opening of the 5 star Glasgow Hilton as their fine dining restaurant manager.

After 10 years with Hilton , joined Shire Inns at the Solent Hotel Southampton and then as product and services manager at Cottons Hotel Knutsford Cheshire.

Next came a Deputy GMs role with Stakis in Norwich which soon after was sold to Hilton. Back in the Hilton fold I then transferred to Manchester Airport Hilton as House Manager.

An offer to take up my first GMs role then brought me back to East Anglia as General Manager with Heritage Hotels flagship property , The Swan Lavenham.

Feeling ever more at home in East Anglia the next 10 years were spent with Adnams as thier hotels General Manager overseeing 6 properties including The Swan and Crown in Southwold and the Victoria at Holkham.

An opportunity to run my own business in Blakeney , North Norfolk provided the next challenge and I took the lease for the White Horse , a 9 bedroomed Gastro Pub.

After two years however ,rejoined the ranks of the employed to work with Lord and Lady Carlisle at Wyken Vineyards where as General manager of the Leaping Hare , the Good Food Guides Restaurant of the Year for East Anglia , I have been positioned for the last 5 months.
