Demonstrating his leadership qualities and fine dining talents, Adam recently directed a team of 60 chefs at The Ritz, London.
Winner of The Observer’s Young Chef of The Year Award 2012 and Roux Scholarship Winner 2012, Adam brings with him over 10 years of culinary expertise and experience, and is hoping to gain himself a Michelin star with a brand new innovative menu created especially for The Burlington Restaurant. Even Michael Roux Snr OBE himself has declared that Adam “is definitely one to watch”.
The young chef, originally from Birmingham, intends to make a mark with his imaginative menus and creative culinary flair. He has ambitions to achieve some of the highest accolades in his career at The Devonshire Hotels and Restaurants Group.
On making the appointment of Adam as new head chef, The Devonshire Hotel and Restaurant’s general manager Andrew Mackay said “This is a great opportunity both for us and for Adam. Rather than bring in somebody who has already made their mark with Michelin stars, we wanted to support a rising star where he can make our restaurant his own and give it his personality.

The Burlington Restaurant has 4 AA rosettes and is located in The Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel on the Bolton Abbey estate.
The Burlington was named “Best Hotel Restaurant” for 2013 at the annual Oliver awards and the restaurant has most recently been awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2013.
During the past 10 years, Adam has won numerous prestigious awards for his talents as a chef, including a gold medal in World Skills in Calgary, 2009 – making him only the second British chef to achieve this feat in the 45-year history of the competition.
Locally sourced produce is at the heart of The Devonshire Arms. Each dish is exquisitely and freshly prepared, using Estate meat and game with seasonal vegetables and herbs from their own extensive kitchen gardens.
The restaurant itself is decorated with pale aubergine walls, adorned by classical architectural drawings (from the renowned Devonshire Collection at Chatsworth), and soft intimate lighting. Antique tables are dressed with designer silverware, fine crystal glasses and stylish white china, setting the scene for a memorable dining experience.
